Under the Patronage of the Dean of the Administrative Technical College / Kufa, Assistant Professor Dr. Dirgham Hassan Abd,The Human Rights Unit at the College, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized an awareness-raising panel discussion entitled “Challenges Facing University Women”, delivered by Lecturer Asst. Ilaf Qasim Mohammed, on Tuesday, 17/2/2026.The session addressed the most significant challenges facing university women, as they represent a fundamental pillar in building society and shaping the future. University women constitute an aware and ambitious segment striving to acquire knowledge and actively participate in development. The key challenges discussed included:Academic challenges, such as academic workload, numerous assignments, and difficulty balancing studies with other commitments.Social and cultural challenges resulting from traditions and customs or limited family support.Economic challenges, represented by financial burdens such as tuition fees and transportation costs.The discussion also explored ways to address these challenges and proposed solutions, including strengthening academic and psychological counseling within universities, raising community awareness about the importance of women’s education and support, providing a safe and supportive university environment, and involving female students in decision-making processes.In conclusion, the lecturer emphasized that confronting the challenges faced by university women is a shared responsibility between the family, educational institutions, and society. Empowering women academically, psychologically, and socially contributes to building a conscious generation capable of advancing society toward a more just and progressive future.
