Sustainable Development

Established in 2020

The Sustainable Development Unit is one of the key units in the college. It is concerned with promoting environmental, economic, and social development concepts within the academic institution through projects and initiatives aligned with internationally recognized sustainable development goals. The unit works to engage students and staff in activities that promote sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of daily operations.

To make the college a leading academic model in the field of sustainable development by adopting sustainable practices that contribute to building an environmentally and socially responsible university environment.

The unit seeks to promote a culture of sustainable development and implement its concepts through educational, awareness, and field programs that enhance resource efficiency and encourage collective action toward achieving a balance between environmental, educational, and societal needs.

Sustainable Development Unit

Identifying Environmental and Social Priorities within the College
The unit begins its work by reviewing the current situation in the college regarding resource consumption, environmental management practices, and community activities to identify areas for improvement.

Developing an Annual Plan for Sustainable  Development Activities
The unit prepares a work plan that includes environmental projects (such as recycling, energy and water conservation), awareness campaigns, and training workshops in coordination with administrative and academic departments.

Raising Awareness and Building a Culture of Sustainability
Awareness campaigns are organized on campus to highlight the importance of sustainability among students and staff, encouraging positive environmental behavior.

Implementing Sustainable Initiatives and Projects
The unit carries out practical projects such as installing energy-saving lighting, organizing cleaning and tree-planting campaigns, waste sorting, and launching community initiatives that serve the local environment.

Coordination with Relevant Entities
The unit collaborates with civil society organizations, environmental departments, and other universities to implement joint activities and exchange expertise in sustainability fields.

Regular Monitoring and Evaluation
The outcomes of implemented programs and projects are assessed, with performance indicators used to measure goal achievement, and periodic reports submitted to the college administration.

Supporting Scientific Research in Sustainability
The unit encourages graduation projects and research focused on environmental issues, renewable energy, and the green economy, providing necessary support to students in related fields.
