Under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Dirgham Hassan Abdul-Abdali, the Department of Accounting Technologies organized a workshop titled “Violent Extremism and Social Cohesion” on the occasion of the International Day for Countering Violent Extremism and Promoting Social Cohesion.The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Dr. Ali Muhammad Al-Kishwan. It focused on the importance of promoting a culture of tolerance and dialogue and strengthening shared citizenship values as a means to combat manifestations of violent extremism. Participants also discussed the role of educational and media institutions in building community awareness to protect youth from extremist ideas and enhance a sense of belonging and peaceful coexistence.The workshop included discussion sessions and presentations highlighting successful local and international experiences in countering extremism, along with practical recommendations to enhance cooperation among various stakeholders.The event emphasized that it aligns with international efforts to build more cohesive communities capable of confronting intellectual and social challenges and achieving sustainable development based on peace and security.
