The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs is considered one of the pillars of academic leadership in the college. They are responsible for overseeing all scientific, educational, and research-related aspects. This includes coordinating the implementation of study plans, supervising the development of academic programs, and organizing conferences and seminars. They also follow up on students’ scientific affairs and ensure the quality of educational performance. Moreover, the Assistant Dean serves as a link between academic departments and the Dean’s Office to ensure the implementation of the college’s scientific policies.

The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs carries out their duties through direct coordination with the Dean of the College and the heads of scientific departments. Their work relies on organizing and directing the educational and research processes to ensure adherence to the scientific policies set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.The mechanism includes monitoring the implementation of study plans, supervising postgraduate programs, and overseeing the quality of education within classrooms and laboratories. They also manage research affairs and scientific activities, including academic publishing, organizing conferences and seminars, and improving teaching performance through scientific courses and professional development.The Assistant Dean follows up on the academic promotion process for faculty members and collaborates with related units such as the Research and Development Unit, Quality Assurance Division, and the Continuing Education Unit to ensure the achievement of the college’s educational and research goals.They also rely on modern technologies in managing the scientific process and encourage academic openness and cooperation with educational institutions inside and outside Iraq, enhancing the college’s academic and scientific standing.
